This is a recipe my Aunt always makes. It has some weird ingredients, but tastes great. Serve over egg noodles or rice.
Ingredients | Paprika Indian Name¼ cup shortening2 pounds lean beef chuck, trimmed and cut into 1 inch cubes1 cup chopped onion1 clove garlic, minced¾ cup ketchup2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce1 tablespoon brown sugar2 teaspoons salt½ teaspoon mustard powder2 teaspoons paprika1 ½ cups water2 tablespoons all-purpose flour¼ cup waterDirectionsMelt shortening in large skillet over medium high heat. Add meat, onion, and garlic; cook and stir until meat is browned.Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, paprika, mustard and 1 1/2 cup water. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours.Blend flour and 1/4 cup water. Stir into meat. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
